It’s already there
I didn’t think about this before, but when those pages eventually get deleted, will they be manually merged? I’m sure many users checked the wrong page thinking they’ve checked the correct film. This one, for example, is clearly a duplicate with the same title and same director, that for some reason was deleted instead of merged on imdb.
The vast majority of things on that list simply don’t exist. I think this and maybe one other are this kind of delete and recreate without a redirect situation. Maybe I should make a separate list for those? Haven’t given it much thought.
Fair’s fair should be the checks on those duplicate-vanished films be merged with their existing titles. But, that’s just me
