2 listings for one director?

Hey Guys,

when I click Pablo Lamar’s name at the director link on the page of https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/la+ultima+tierra/, I don’tget to see his other films, two shorts.

When I’m at one of those two short’s page like https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/noche+adentro/, I do get to see both shorts when I click Pablo Lamar.

It seems ICM is considering them as two different directors. I did find out though, that IMDb has him listed twice as well:
-http://www.imdb.com/name/nm8175146/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2 (Ahendu nde sapukai is ‘I Hear Your Scream’, which is listed under it’s English title under the first hyperlink.

Can anyone fix this?

As long as he’s listed twice on IMDb, I doubt we can fix it here.

Maybe, but the wrong IMDb listing has only 1 short to it’s name. On ICM the Pablo Lamar listing has both shorts, so I’m not sure.

I filed a corrrection request on IMDb to merge the two entries. Does ICM automatically follow when that is corrected?

Not automatically, but if you post here when imdb merges them I, or another mod, can reimport that movie’s data which should hopefully fix it.

Edit: it seems there’s an encoding bug going on, turning + into %2B on one of the links but not the other which is what’s causing the inconsistency. I’ll check if reimporting the imdb data fixes it, if not I’ll forward it to marijn.

Not sure whether it warrants a new thread, but there are cases of “1 listing for two directors” also. Like,
https://www.icheckmovies.com/movies/?tags=director%3Aki-duk%2Bkim
I know this is because ICM doesn’t differentiate directors with same name like it does for films, but I guess it can accommodate numbers (like -1, -2) at the end.

I brought that up last year when I noticed that the George Miller that directed Mad Max: Fury Road was also listed as the director of The Neverending Story II. And they’re both Australian too! I’m not sure if anything can be done about that.

i know it’s a fairly old topic (still first page though), and as it feels relevant why not post my input on it.

isn’t it possible to just create a separate table and join it in, would only need to store information where there is two directors with the same name. I guess the more time consuming part is to build a tool for admins to use, but this can really be made simple aswell.

another example of 2in1
